Policy and regulatory
Health care is a complex and intensely regulated industry, and the Medical Society of Virginia (MSV) actively monitors and provides guidance on issues that concern physicians and their practices. Our commitment is to serve as the resource for member physicians in the areas of public and private sector health policy and medical economics. We provide research, advice and strategies on a broad range of issues at all levels that affect the practice of medicine. Through our E-News, newsletter, web site and other communication outlets, we strive to keep our members aware of critical issues that may require the attention and action of physician practices.
In addition to serving as an informational resource to members, the Medical Society is also committed to influencing regulatory and policy issues on behalf of Virginia’s physicians. MSV monitors and actively participates in shaping matters before the Virginia Board of Medicine, Department of Health and various other entities and organizations.
Assistance with policy and regulatory issues is available to individual MSV members and group practices with at least fifty percent membership.
